Welcome to Skamania Lodge
It’s official… when it was suggested that we “think outside
of the box”… we did… and MORE!
You are going to love
it! There is no more beautiful
destination than the Columbia Gorge in the late spring. Skamania Lodge is a destination resort with plenty
of fun stuff for the entire family. Certainly
a wonderful “couples get-away”!
First, we determined that we wanted to move back to a
weekend instead of mid-week. That way
more of us can bring a significant other.
Then, we planned some exciting social functions that will allow us to
visit with each other and enjoy the treasures of the gorge at the same
time.
Here’s the plan… The stuffy P&D and Board of Directors
meetings will occur on Friday morning, so local Presidents should plan to come
in on Thursday evening. Everybody else
can arrive on Friday about noon.
The real fun starts at 1 PM with a charity golf tournament
at the resort. This golf course is
AWSOME! If you even “play at golf”
you’ll want to participate just for the scenery! The tournament will be followed at 6PM with
the opening ceremony and an outside (we hope) BBQ! Of course, this will all be followed by hosted
hospitality in the Lodge’s luxury suites!
Saturday AM will feature a combined OR/WA general session
followed by a divided delegate counsel session for each state. At 11:30 we’ll break for lunch followed by
your choice of a (mostly hosted) 4-hour river cruise on the Columbia Gorge
Sternwheeler (includes 2 hours of CE!)… Or a 3-hour Columbia Gorge Wine Country
Tour on chauffeured luxury buses! Or,
you can just spend the afternoon relaxing at the resort… maybe get a Spa
treatment or enjoy a swim?
Saturday evening will be a joint WA/OR extravaganza of fun
as we induct our new officers and kiss the has-beens Good By! Entertainment and good food await. Remember those afore mentioned Hospitality
Suites? Yup, there’s more of the same
tonight!
Sunday morning will see us again networking with Oregon in a
combined general session, then splitting to wrap up our respective states’
business and adjourning for 2017 around 11:30 or so!
In order to pull this off we will need tons of
participation. Make plans now to attend
and participate in the activities!
Please plan now to join the rest of us for a fun “business” weekend
get-away! Our committee goal is to have
EVERY local represented by ALL of their DELEGATES… and as many spouses /
significant others and families as possible!
